WHY VOLUNTEER?
Soul of the City is a grassroots festival dedicated to showcasing local soul and R&B artists. Our focus is building real connections between performers and fans.
Volunteers help make that possible.
You create the atmosphere, support artists, and keep everything running smoothly across the festival.
In exchange for your time, you’ll receive:

-Free entry to shows when you’re not on shift

VOLUNTEER ROLES NEEDED
Door Staff / Front of House
Greet guests, check tickets, and manage audience flow
Float Runner
Assist with quick tasks, errands, and support wherever needed
Artist Support / Backstage Assistant
Help performers, coordinate timing, and support stage teams
Signage & Street Team
Promote the festival and assist with posters and visibility
Content Capture (Social Media)
Take candid photos and short vertical videos for stories and reels (fast turnaround, phone-friendly)
Photographer
Capture high-quality images of performances, crowd moments, and festival atmosphere
Sales
Merch table, sponsored drink sales
General Support
Flexible role helping wherever needed

Shifts are 2–4 hours
Afternoon, evening, and late-night options available

Programming runs throughout the day and evening depending on venue
VOLUNTEER ONBOARDING
Selected volunteers will be invited to a brief group Zoom meeting prior to the festival to go over roles, expectations, and logistics.
